With 24 hectares in Vacqueyras, this domaine, founded in 1905, is one of the oldest and most historic properties in the appellation. Records dating back to the 12th century tell us that the Knights Templar owned the property and probably cultivated vines here. Today, Jean-Michel and Frédéric Vache, direct descendants of the founding Archimbauld family, run the domaine and produce wines of distinct power and depth which also display an elegant quality that’s unexpected for their richness. Even if the wines are on the flamboyant side as Vacqueyras goes, they are still focused and ageworthy.
