Located within the Madiran AOC, Château Bouscassé spans roughly 50 hectares of vineyards. While the estate primarily focuses on red wines, boasting Tannat as its principal variety, it also cultivates two white grapes, Petit Courbu and Petit Manseng, to create the fresh and approachable Les Jardins Philosophiques. Moving on to the reds, the regular bottling of Château Bouscassé utilizes grapes from approximately 50-year-old vines. In contrast, the Vieilles Vignes, a single-varietal Tannat, hails from a small three-hectare plot featuring up to 100-year-old vines. This results in lower yields and intensified flavor concentration. Across the range, the 2019 vintage showcases the estate's commitment to quality and offers plenty of bang for the buck.
