The three-hectare biodynamic garden vineyard belonging to South African Neil Hawkins and his Australian wife, Anna, is part of the new wave in Gippsland, pushing quality to extremes with immaculate attention to detail in all grape growing and winemaking levels. The role models are clear, with the cellar walls lined with the greatest wines and vintages from around the world. The wines are also kept back more than most, bottle age adding impressive texture and depth. The sheer energy in these wines is impressive, with barrel samples showcasing vibrant and flowing wines full of personality and character yet classically styled and focused.
