These new releases from Stony Hill represent a sort of transition. The 2019s and 2020s were vinified by Stéphane Vivier. Jaimee Motley finished those wines and then made the 2021s before departing after what turned out to be a short tenure. I tasted this range with CEO Carlton McCoy and Reid Griggs, who joined in 2023 to head winemaking. The highlights are, without question, the 2021 Cabernets. Motley was given a bit of fruit from some of the other estates in the Demeine group to experiment with and made the most of that opportunity. Her Linda Falls Cabernet Sauvignon is memorable.
