This is a solid set of wines from Ambra, one of the standard bearers in Carmignano. Both the 2013s and 2012s I tasted suggest both vintages yielded mid-weight wines here. It will be interesting to see how the top 2013s show next year. All four Carmignanos in this tasting are a bit on the lighter side and offer good depth, but not quite the delineation and intensity that has defined the best vintages.
