Santa Carolina was founded in 1875. The historic winery, with underground stone cellars that make it a Chilean heritage site, has been absorbed by the city of Santiago, but the company also owns other wineries. A key part of the Carolina Wine Group, one of Chile’s leading exporters, its head oenologist is Alejandro Wedeles, who makes classical oak-aged Chilean wines with an eye on value for money, as well as a few flagship labels such as Dolmen.
