This is a fabulous set of wines from Harris and winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown. Each of the three parcels on this Diamond Mountain site has a distinct voice, and that comes through loud and clear. The 2011 are very much on the savory, mineral side of things, while the 2012 are voluptuous and textured, in the style of the respective vintages.

I was deeply struck with the wines I tasted from Harris Estate Vineyards this year. The vineyards are located on the lower slopes of Diamond Mountain. Three separate blocks correspond to the Jake's Creek, Lakeview and Treva's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons. The 2010s have turned out as good or better than I hoped based on last year's tastings from barrel, while the 2011s, wines from a much more difficult vintage, are solid across the board.
