Fine Disregard is a new project for me. I was impressed with the wines I tasted. Mike Schieffer is the assistant winemaker at Turley and Kara Maraden is the director of viticulture at Foley. Their wines are done in an understated style that emphasizes freshness and finesse. Some of the wines are compelling already, others are works in progress, but they are all worth getting to know. The Pato Mourvèdre, Altas Piedras Grenache and Haynes Syrah are especially of note. Readers looking for something new will want to check out these gorgeous current releases.
