Poderi Aldo Conterno
The last few years have not been especially kind to th is venerable estate. Conterno decided against bottling any Barolo in both 2002 and 2003, vintages which the house didn't feel were up the usual standard of quality. In 2004 a portion of the vineyards were damaged by hail, including Cicala, which means there will be no Granbussia in 2004. In 2007, their holdings were once again hit by hail, most severely in Romirasco where 90% of the production was lost. These are setbacks most producers would find deflating, yet through it all the family has shown their usual grace and class.
