Palazzo

The Palazzo winery and vineyards can be found to the southeast of Montalcino. It was here, located near the vineyards of Cerbaiona and Salvioni, that Cosimo Loia decided that he would plant Sangiovese back in 1983. Today, the winery is run by his daughter, Elia, and son, Angelo, who, together with consulting enologist Fabrizio Ciufoli, have taken Palazzo to a whole new level. Their vineyards are perfectly situated at 320 meters, with a southeast exposure, and planted in poor, stony soils. Mixing traditional teachings, with an open-minded approach to vineyard management, and cleaning up of the cellars, has resulted in steady rise in quality that can be witnessed with each passing vintage.
