Jean Delobre, whose grandfather set up this domaine in 1984, owns a mere five hectares of vines (three-and-a-half of them classified as Saint-Joseph) on the granitic soils of Saint-Desirat. Delobre farms biodynamically, and the wines, which are all massal selection (Serine) for the Syrah, are made with de-stemmed fruit, with no sulfur additions, and raised in neutral, 600-liter barrels before bottling, which is done without fining or filtration.
