Kelby James Russell
This brand is the private project of winemaker Kelby James Russell. In addition to his fine work at Red Newt Cellars, Kelby is one third of the winemaking team behind Tierce. Undoubtedly one of the finest young winemakers in the Finger Lakes, Kelby brings a distinct sense of texture and elegance to all his wines. For his personal label, production is extremely limited and centered around only three wines: a dry rosé, a dry Riesling, and a Cabernet Franc. Though I have yet to try the Cabernet Franc, both the rosé and the Riesling I sampled were impressive.
