Jurtschitsch

Three brothers, Paul, Ed and Karl Jurtschitsch, lead one of Austria's largest wineries. The family estate was one of the first in the country to have temperature-controlled stainless steel fermentation vessels (1978), and since the construction of their terraced cellar in 2000, which is built on a slope and allows the brothers to use gravity rather than pump their musts and wines, they once again have the most modern techniques at their disposal. In this huge, natural stone cellar, wines are matured in stainless steel, large wooden casks, or small French oak barrels according to variety and style.Jurtschitsch offers no fewer than 30 wines yearly, ranging from classic Austrian white wine varieties (including nine gruner veltliners from light and dry to ice wine and TBA!) to powerful red wines.
