Armando Parusso

Marco Parusso's 2011 Barolos have now been in bottle a few months since I last tasted them, right after bottling, and are naturally even more expressive. Parusso's 2011s capture an intriguing stylistic expression of the warm vintage tempered by the high use of whole clusters, a technique that is highly unusual in Piedmont. As always, the Barolos are aged in 100% new French oak, with the exception of the Riserva, which gets moved into new barrels for its second year of aging, a practice sometimes referred to as '200% new oak." These remain some of the most distinctive Barolos readers will come across.
