Anne Amie Vineyards

The wines at Anne Amie Vineyards are now being made by Gabriela Vignes, a native of Chile and a graduate of the prestigious enology and viticulture programs of Santiago’s Pontificia Universidad Católica as well as L'École Supérieure d'Agricultures, in Angers, France. That’s a hell of a resumé, not to mention family name (at least in French). Vignes came on board at the beginning of 2021, so I’ll be seeing the fruit of her labor in the next few months. As for consumers, they’ll have to wait a little longer, because this winery doesn’t rush their wines onto the market. That means that only a couple of 2019s are available, and the bulk of what’s out there is from 2018 and 2017. These are solid releases, with moderate oak influence, that are still young but will show pretty well if permitted to breathe a bit. They have structure, which augurs well for their cellaring potential, and while aeration/decanting will allow them to stretch out, there’s no real substitute for bottle age.
