Creamy and textured, the 2008 offers up scents of tangerine oil, mint, apricot,
chamomile and tropical fruit. Time brings out more lifted, floral notes to
complement the wine’s natural richness. I love the density and depth here. Best
of all, the 2008 remains young and vibrant, with another decade of fine
drinking ahead of it. While nothing from Coche-Dury qualifies as inexpensive
these days, the Rougeots does offer tons of pedigree without the price tag of
the very top wines. It’s a gorgeous wine that is in its sweet spot right now. 93/Drink
