La Festa del Barolo - Frequently Asked Questions

Am I expected to bring a bottle of wine to the Gala Dinner & Charity Auction?

Guests typically bring a bottle (or more) per person from their own cellars to share with their friends and fellow guests. Each winemaker will also pour two older vintages from their library at the Gala Dinner.

How many bottles should I bring?

A good rule of thumb is to plan on one bottle per person in your party. There is no limit as to how many bottles you may bring.

Can I bring only Barolo?

La Festa is a celebration of Barolo, so Barolo (and Barbaresco) are particularly appropriate. However, guests are free to bring whatever wines they wish. In the past, we have seen quite a bit of Burgundy and Champagne in the room.

Sommeliers will be on hand to take your bottles and prepare them for your table's enjoyment. Do not drop off wines before the start of the event.

How does seating for the Gala Dinner & Charity Auction work?

Seating is assigned in advance. Each winemaker will host a table. Vinous Premium members receive priority seating.

If I win an auction lot, what happens next?

We will take your contact details at the dinner and will follow up in the weeks after.

What is the attire?

La Festa del Barolo’s Gala Dinner is elegant, but not stuffy. Women may be comfortable in evening wear, while a jacket (with optional tie) is appropriate for men.

What is the format for the 2015 Barolo…The Bigger Picture?

Our seated masterclass tasting will start promptly at 10:30am on Saturday, February 1.

Where is The Pool?

The entrance to The Pool is at 99 East 52nd St between Lexington and Park Avenue.

Are tickets refundable?

Unfortunately we can’t offer exchanges or refunds.
