Piero Antinori and a Historical Overview of Solaia, June 2013

Marchese Piero Antinori's family can trace its wine making experience back to 1385, but it was in the 1970s that they began to play an influential role in the quality revolution that swept across Tuscany and Italy. Solaia "The sunny one" is a 10 hectare vineyard that gave both its name and its fruit to the eponymous wine first released in 1978. In this video Piero Antinori talks with Antonio Galloni minutes before the start of a historic tasting of all 28 vintages at Eleven Madison Park. As well as providing a fascinating historical overview of Solaia, this interview could be considered to be very good luck indeed... watch to see why. © 2013 All Grapes Media, LLC
