Vinous Table: The Corner Townhouse, Rome, Italy

Vinous Table, Italy: Center & South

Ian D'Agata, Feb 2018

The Corner Townhouse is one of the many recently born Rome restaurants that are popular with the “in” crowd, but The Corner has potential to stick around thanks to its inventive food, decent wine list and a beautiful dining room.

Vinous Table: Le Coq Rico – The Bistro of Beautiful Birds, New York, NY

United States: New York, Vinous Table

Antonio Galloni, Feb 2018

There is something about the simplicity of a perfectly cooked bird that gets me every time. This recent dinner Le Coq Rico was one of the best meals I have had in New York City in a long time. A small group of friends gathered at the bar for front-row seats as we watched the action unfold in the kitchen in real time.

Vinous Table: Osteria Enoteca San Marco, Venice, Italy

Italy, Vinous Table

Ian D'Agata, Feb 2018

San Marco is Venice’s most famous and beautiful square. Osteria Enoteca deserves similar amounts of praise, especially compared to dining establishments of the same ilk in the lagunar city. Well-made, non-touristy food, a great wine list and competent service are the ingredients that make Osteria Enoteca well worth a visit.

Ian D'Agata, Jan 2018

Vintage 1997 offers solid, well-cooked renditions of updated Piedmontese classics in a quiet, refined but not stuffy ambience. The wine list teeming with great bottles at fair prices make Vintage 1997 a must stop for serious food and wine lovers.

Bistrot du Bord de L’Eau, Levernois, France

Antonio Galloni, Jan 2018

Bistrot du Bord de L’Eau is one of my favorite spots in Burgundy. The warm, welcoming room, hearty food and fabulous wine list make for a perfect place to enjoy a leisurely lunch or dinner.

Ian D'Agata, Jan 2018

Vinous Table: Jean-Michel Lorain, Joigny, France

France: Burgundy, Vinous Table

Ian D'Agata, Jan 2018

Jean-Michel Lorain’s is the sort of restaurant nobody does better in the world than France. A bucolic setting, refined food and service and a great wine list make for dining nirvana.

Vinous Table: Cul de Sac, Rome, Italy

Vinous Table, Italy

Ian D'Agata, Dec 2017

Cul de Sac is Rome’s best wine bar. Authentic down to earth, hearty, mostly Roman dishes, a very good selection of charcuterie and cheeses, and a truly hard to lift, huge wine list all make a night at Cul de Sac memorable.

Ravioli

Vinous Table: Campamac – Osteria di Livello, Barbaresco, Italy

Italy: North, Vinous Table

Antonio Galloni, Dec 2017

I haven’t done the math, but I would be willing to bet no other place in the world can match Piedmont for its sheer concentration of world-class restaurants, most of which are situated within a few kilometers from each other. Located in the heart of Barbaresco, Campamac is the newest addition to Piedmont’s glorious dining scene.

4 roast pork ham with honey glaze and potato salad

d’Brendelstub, Riquewihr, France

Vinous Table

Ian D'Agata, Dec 2017

D’Brendelstub offers a nice mix of tradition and twenty-first century flair, with modernist lighting and open kitchen, but also a spit-roast and mostly old Alsatian reliables on the menu (choucroute, tarte flambée, kugelhof, and foie gras.)
